Mehaffey Tree Farm is nearing its 40th anniversary as a staple Christmas tree farm in the state. Their inventory of strictly Fraser fir varieties is popular with community members, and it’s not unusual for the farm to sell out before the end of the season. Dates are limited, so get your tree while you can. Depending on the number of sales earlier in the season, the farm may be open for additional dates in December.

The aptly named Frosty Mountain Christmas Tree Farm is located at over 3,000 feet above sea level, making it the perfect winter tree farm.

This is a working farm – not a retail lot or garden. In other words, wear your hiking boots and expect to climb the rolling foothills of the neighboring mountains. There is no paved road for vehicles, but the farm bustles as it doubles as a wholesale Christmas tree vendor.

This farm is perfect for families who appreciate the challenge of an old school Choose-and-Cut. Frosty Mountain staff is also available to trim and cut your family’s tree of choice.

Barr Evergreens Christmas Tree Lot

Barr Evergreens grows all their gorgeous Fraser firs on the Barr Family Farm in the mountains of North Carolina. Every year, they cut and transport the finest Christmas trees to retailers all over North Carolina, including Wilmington, where tree growing isn’t easy.

Find the perfect pre-cut tree at the Barr Christmas Tree Lot located on the corner of Shipyard and Independence Blvd. The lot is small, making it easy to navigate. Just be sure you get there before they sell out!
